Why does my BibGuru reference look different to the example in the UCA Harvard Guide?

The reference is only as good as the metadata that is stored in BibGuru, and there are occasions when it won’t have all of the correct information and the citation will look incorrect. You can fix this by editing the metadata in BibGuru.
Hover over the reference in BibGuru you will see a pencil symbol, when you hover over this it will say Edit Source, click on this.
When importing book references often the location of the publisher is missing:
- s.l. = when there is no location of a publisher in UCA Harvard the advice is to put s.l. in as a replacement, google the publisher e.g. Penguin and add the city they are based into the Address field
When saving websites often there is no date of publication or author:
- s.d. = when there is no date in UCA Harvard the advice is to put s.d. as a replacement, if you can find a date add this manually into the Date field
- No author = when there is no author the reference will look strange as the title will be put at the start of the reference. Have a look for an author on the book or website etc and add them to the Author field:
- One person can be added by putting Surname, First name: Bloggs, Joe
- Two and more people are separated by a ; Bloggs, Joe; Smith, Fred;
- If you have no author you can give a corporate/company author, this could be the name of a magazine or website put them in {brackets} then Paperpile won’t try to give them a Surname and Initial – e.g. {Tate}, {Creative Boom}
